HPC in Donaldsonville

To follow up the previous post of what "The Church" is doing, I wanted to share this story about a different kind of storm and how "The Church" is reaching and helping those in need. Look for the post named, "The Shed."

The blog is from the Pastors at HPC-Donaldsonville and this is one of many stories of how great churches across Louisiana and the USA are touching people.

Get ready for a reality check!

"The Church" during the Hurricanes

If you didn't know, The Church was instrumental in getting aid to those who needed it during the storms. By The Church, I mean the Big One, the one without a building, denomination, or agenda. The Church is every believer on the face of the planet, doing what they can to help those in need.

This unification is long overdue. I hope the connections that were made in response to the storms stay solid, through the differences and disagreements of petty things, unimportant things.

Many local South Louisiana churches stepped up, many churches across the nation stepped up, many churches across the world stepped up!

Check out PRC Compassion for details of how those in need were helped. This is an organization that connects churches to be The Church. Get involved if your not!

The Gospel in the Ultimate Fighting Championship? YES!!

Here's one of my new favorite Bible verses. I lifted it off of the UFC World Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes' website. Well, it's originally from the Bible, not Matt, but you know what I mean...

1 Timothy 1:15-16 "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life."

See, this eliminates any boasting or bragging. This reminds me not to judge what others are going through, because I went through my own things. I surely didn't want anyone looking down on me or judging me.

Now, I did some crazy stuff when I was younger. Some things that I'm not too proud of today. I surely don't want Jada knowing all that about her daddy. When people see me today, they may remember me as the worst of sinners back then. But, if I happen to represent Christ in some little way, then they will see as an example, what His unlimited patience has done for me.
